With a rich history of over 80 years of ministry in the Willamette Valley, Calvary has long strived to be a place where the fullness of who God is, and what He teaches, can be learned and lived out. Our prayer throughout these years has been to be a spiritual presence in today’s society knowing that God is, has been, and will always be relevant to the hopes, dreams, and needs of His creation.
Calvary is a mid-sized family church that averages about 150 worshipers on Sundays. We are committed to God, His word, and His people and consider it a privilege to know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We also consider both an honor and responsibility to share this extraordinary gift of a personal relationship with God with all who are yearning to know God in a personal way.
As you will discover, Calvary is not a megachurch, though we do have a number of groups, studies, fellowship and ministry opportunities throughout the week for all ages which enable and empower us to grow in our walk with God. However, neither is Calvary so small that we’ve become predominantly inward focused to the neglect of a world that needs and desires to know the peace, contentment, and joy that God alone can provide, and will provide, to those who open their lives to Him. Rather, we are exactly the size God would have us to be at this moment in time, knowing that our charge before God is to be obedient and recognizing that as we embrace and embody God’s truths, His hand of blessing and guidance will rest upon this church family.
We hope this website gives you a glimpse of who we are but please remember, words can only convey so much. If you are looking for a church home we would invite you to come and visit for a few Sundays. We are not the only solid, caring congregation in Salem, Oregon, but God is doing some exciting and special things here that have to be experienced rather than just read about. If you would like to know more about Calvary, or if we can help in any other way, please let myself or our church office know and we would happy to provide you with some additional information.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our site and may God guide you to that church home where you can mature in your walk with Him, and use your gifts and abilities for the furtherance of His kingdom.
In His Service,
